About Stacey

 Stacey Lee Henderson

BSc (Psych), MSc (Clin Psych), MBPsS
Qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher

With a background in Clinical and Organizational Psychology for Health and Wellbeing, my experience lies in clinical research, program design and development of behavioural interventions, and facilitations of workplace mental health and wellbeing workshops.

Whilst working in healthcare, I have worked with older adults with chronic medical conditions such as stroke and cognitive impairment, individuals with sleep difficulties and children with learning difficulties and behavioural challenges. With the stories I have heard and interactions with my patients, I recognise that there is an essential need for both social and emotional support at home as well as at the office! Therefore I aim to curate programs best suited for both environments.

Through my passion for teaching I have also trained and supervised clinical research interns and junior staff within my team. Working with people has led me to be more compassionate and patient with my approach towards others. Continued education is important to me, and I believe we never stop learning from each other.

 My mindfulness journey

“If you are pained by any external thing, it is not this thing that disturbs you, but your own judgment about it. And it is in your power to wipe out this judgment now.”

— Marcus Aurelius

Having completed the Mindfulness Teacher Training Course, I personally practice mindfulness in my daily routine and adapts mindfulness-based strategies to the mental wellness interventions I curate for my clients.

Personally, mindfulness has taught me to look at my relationships differently. I feel that I am a better friend, daughter, wife and sister because of how I now approach conflict and better manage my reactions and responses. Meditation has given me a sense of peace and determination to focus on the work that I do, and has deepened my spirituality as well. I am so happy to be able to share the knowledge and experience gained with the interactions and friendships I have made along this journey and am truly grateful.
